This is another slept on "Slick Shooze" banger that I made with Stakzilla for our project, "The Ooze," called "Sit Down On It." (slickshoes.bandcamp.com/album/the-ooze)
This is one of my favorite SP beats I ever made, but the drums are the only sample. If you're a digger, you'll recognize that Enoch Light percussion that the song is built around.
The melody and bass line is just stuff I came up with on my Hammond XK-2 organ, run through my moogerfooger low pass filter. There's also clavinet and Rhodes patches from my Roland MC-808 for texture.
The vocal version linked above has AMAZING guitar work from Jeremy Radway, even if my vocals are embarrassingly crude (the song is called "Sit Down On It" and it ain't about a chair lol...ah, life in your 20's...). But since he mixed and mastered the album, he has the guitar parts hostage lol.
Still jamming. Hope you dig it!
